Iconic Moments from this Years Emmy Awards 2025
The Emmy Awards were held in Los Angeles last weekend and made for some incredible moments between our favorite actors and actresses. From charity donations to outfit changes, this evening had it all. Today, we are breaking down some iconic moments the night had to offer.
Timed Speeches for Charity
This year, host Nate Bargatze kept all the winners in check with a timed countdown for their speeches. Starting off with a 100,000 dollar charity donation, the money would then decrease by 1,000 dollars for every second a speech goes overtime. By the end of the night, Bargatze pledged 250,000 dollars with CBS contributing 100,000 for the Boys and Girls Club of North America.
Owen Cooper’s Adolescense Win
The hit series Adolescence swept the board with winnings this year. From best series to best supporting actors. Owen Cooper made history being the youngest actor to win in his category at 15 years old; with which he then delivered a heartwarming and emotional speech.
Trammell Tillman Makes History
Another powerful moment came from the star of Apple TV’s drama Severance. Winning best supporting actor in a drama series, Trammell Tillman made history by being the first ever black man to win this category in the Emmy Award’s 77 years. In an emotional turn, Tillman dedicated the award and his speech to his mother.
5 Women and 1 Man
Announcing the nominees for director of a limited series, Elizabeth Banks came on stage to point out a certain gender gap among the nominees in this category. 5 women and 1 man was nominated for director of a limited series this year, which has yet to have happened. In an ironic twist, Philip Barantini (the only man) ended up winning; making for comedic cheers among the audience.
Stephen Colbert’s Appearance
The audience greeted Stephen Colbert with a standing ovation once he took to the stage. With the cancellation of this late night show back in July, Colbert became emotional in his monologue as he even held up an old headshot of himself. Colbert also won for outstanding talk series; in which the audience celebrated and cheered.
