Reel Review: KPop Demon Hunters Is About to Become Your Newest Hyper Fixation

We are officially introducing you to the newest Kpop hyper fixation! Netflix’s Kpop Demon Hunters is sure to become your next obsession… in the form of a demon hunting boyband!

Kpop Demon Hunters follows Rumi, Mira, and Zoey; all singers in a girl group known as Huntrix. While the girls may appear like an average singing group, they are also fierce demon hunters that protect the human world from the demon world by the power of their voices. Now, the girls must put their musical skills to the test when a new rival threatens their world; in the form of a super hot demon boyband.

Leading the boyband known as the Saja Boys is Jinu, a dark and mysterious man who has his own demons (quite literally). When the band performs for the public, their good looks and catchy songs quickly captivate the whole city; meanwhile Jinu quickly catches the attention of Rumi, who is carrying a secret of her own; that she is part demon.

Animated by Sony Pictures Imageworks, the colorful animation style combined with a hardcore catchy soundtrack makes for an ultimate watching experience. Each character is so unique and entertaining and the fantastical plot creates the perfect sense of escapism that the world so desperately needs.

The true story ultimately revolves around Rumi and the internal struggle she faces with herself. She is taught to fight off the demons that she half belongs to. Her only ounce of hope comes from the growing connection she feels when she is with Jinu. This enemies to lovers trope couldn’t be stronger from these two, and it had us in our feelings the entire time!

Like any good animated film, the voice actors are what complete the universe, and Kpop Demon Hunters is no different. The star-stacked cast ranges from Arden Cho and Ken Jeong to Liza Koshy and Lee Byung-hun. Each voice is unique and expressive and made us truly fall for these characters! Overall, these story comes to life by the iconic line delivery and comedic interactions each character has with one another.

The film has been making history since its release and hasn’t stopped since. Remaining number 1 on Netflix, it has become the most-watched original animated film with over 100-million views. Even the soundtrack has become iconic and taken over TikTok with songs like ‘Golden’ and ‘Soda Pop.’

Overall, Kpop Demon Hunters is completely well deserved in its hype. From the unique plot to the colorful aesthetic, this film is sure to become your next hyper-fixation!

Kpop Demon Hunters is available to watch on Netflix!
